THE PROJECT:

The Waiting Room places visitors inside a looping immigration office where nothing moves on the same timeline. The clock resets at random, ticket numbers climb and glitch, and papers drift through the air on their own rhythm. Every object in the room runs on its own loop, creating a suspended and fractured experience of time that mirrors the reality of living in bureaucratic limbo.

Scattered throughout the space are fragments of one person’s journey: documents, letters, photographs, audio, and traces of a process that has stretched on for years. As visitors enter and re-enter the loop, these objects gradually reveal a clear emotional story of waiting, dislocation, uncertainty, and endurance. The installation never resolves. It simply keeps cycling, reflecting the quiet frustration and resilience of surviving within a system that rarely moves when people need it to.
