ABOUT WILLOW:
Willow Cioppa (they/them) is a multidisciplinary storyteller, writer, and music producer whose work moves across form and genre in order to build worlds of emotion, expansion, joy, and freedom. Their practice is deeply informed by backgrounds in harm reduction, community building, and rave organizing, all of which feed a creative approach grounded in care, connection, and liberatory imagination.
THE PROJECT:
All bodies dance like the shine on the water’s surface is an immersive experience exploring the expressive kinship between the dance floor and the ocean. It imagines the dance floor as a site of queer and trans freedom, release, and embodiment, while the ocean becomes a metaphor for the sacred fluidity of gender. Through movement, sound, and atmosphere, the work invites audiences into a world of sensuality, reflection, expansion, and transformation.
The piece is rooted in the emotional and spiritual textures of trans and queer experience, using immersion to evoke both intimacy and vastness. It includes an original sound design and score by Willow, helping shape a world that feels fluid, luminous, and alive.
