JESSE
ABOUT JESSE:
Jesse Stong (they/them) is a Montreal-based award-winning queer creator, dramaturg, and educator. As the former director of the Young Creators Unit, they have mentored over 140 Canadian storytellers, supporting bold new work across disciplines. A playful psychic and performer, Jesse brings together intuition, performance, and dramaturgical rigor in projects that explore transformation, memory, and story. Their work in immersive creation, including Tarot Live!, reflects a deep belief in the artistic and spiritual power of queer storytelling.
Tarot Live! invites participants to step onto the Moon and draw a card. Each card becomes a portal into a living archive of trans and queer memory, opening onto an immersive story that feels both random and deeply personal. Through myth, prophecy, and play, the experience connects the participant to an ancestor, an echo, or an oracle, someone whose life offers guidance, possibility, and reflection.
Blending queer history, self-expression, and divination, Tarot Live! turns the tarot reading into a cosmic encounter with legacy. The work is playful, theatrical, and emotionally resonant, offering a form of immersive storytelling where the past becomes a guide to the future and where queer lineage feels alive, electric, and intimate.
