Something Magic’s community-building research initiative to explore VR and digital storytelling’s capacity to promote empathy, dialogue and exchange across different disciplines and sectors.

RESEARCH AND COMMUNITY ACTION INITIATIVES

NeuroMaps is an education ecosystem for medical student training that uses VR films and user-generated digital storytelling to advocate for a person-centred and autonomous approach to healthcare for neurodivergent people through sharing stories centered on their needs and lived experiences in healthcare contexts. The project aims to advocate for a future of healthcare for neurodivergent people, and for medical professionals that resists stereotypes and embraces diversity and sensitivity.

With the goal of creating space for critical thought and discussion , we host seasonal virtual seminars that bring together experienced and emerging digital creators/producers/community stakeholders.

We lead our seasonal talk-circles (hosted virtually on ALTSPACE) with the goal of exploring topics like marginalized voices in the industry, virtual reality for social change, funding for emerging artists, accessible design, and engaging the next generation of content creators.

 Our circle is always growing

If you are interested in meaningful exchange, and would like to be part of our solution-focused seminars, please contact us about your interest/experience.

We’d love to have you join us at the digital table!
